Alliance for a Heathier SC Receives “States of Solutions” Funding
We are excited to announce that the Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina has been selected to receive $25,000 for the “States of Solutions” initiative, an effort to advance health equity convened by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The Alliance will now enter Phase II of the States of Solutions program, which includes access to on-site coaching, online communications tools and experts in addressing the social determinants of health that negatively impact South Carolinians. The States of Solutions program is also supported by 100 Million Healthier Lives, a larger national cross-sector group working to fundamentally transform the way the world thinks and acts to improve health and wellbeing.
The Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina is built on the collective impact model, an approach designed to minimize duplication and maximize impact. Support from the States of Solutions program will help the Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina further advance our plan to address health disparities across South Carolina.
“I see this as the Alliance’s hard work over the past several years paying off,” said Teresa Arnold, State Director of AARP South Carolina and the Chair of the Alliance. “Being selected to participate in this major national initiative is both a recognition of our collective focus on achieving health equity and a wonderful opportunity to learn from other states and national experts on how South Caroline can be a healthier place to live.”
