The Alliance Welcomes New Chair

The Alliance for a Healthier SC is pleased to introduce Dr. Shawn Stinson as the new chair. Dr. Stinson has been engaged with the Alliance since its inception. As a member of the leadership team and vice chair of the Alliance, Dr. Stinson has served as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and direction for collaborative health improvement.

Dr. Stinson, MD serves as the Senior Vice President for Healthcare Innovation and Improvement for BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Until December of 2014, he was the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer of Palmetto Health (now Prisma Health Midlands), the largest integrated healthcare system in the midlands of South Carolina. Dr. Stinson brings significant experience working with system quality management to his responsibility for ensuring high quality population health for BCBSSC’s members. As part of that effort, he plays a key role working closely with providers to identify opportunities that unite quality improvement and cost saving measures.

Dr. Stinson’s wealth of experience working across numerous areas in healthcare, coupled with his driving commitment to serve others, will strengthen the Alliance as we work to create a South Carolina with optimal and equitable health for ALL.
