The Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina Welcomes New Chair

Columbia, SC — The Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina has named Richele Taylor, CEO and Chief Legal Officer of the South Carolina Medical Association, as Chair of its Board of Directors.

A member of the Alliance's Board since 2022, Taylor assumes the role as the organization continues to convene leaders from healthcare, government, nonprofits, education, philanthropy, and business to strengthen collaboration and improve health across South Carolina.

"I am honored to serve as Chair of the Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina," said Taylor. "The Alliance creates opportunities for organizations across our state to work together in ways that lead to lasting impact. I look forward to working alongside our members and partners to strengthen those connections and help create healthier communities throughout South Carolina."

As CEO and Chief Legal Officer of the South Carolina Medical Association, Taylor leads one of the state's leading physician organizations. She previously spent more than 15 years practicing employment and labor law, advising businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies on a broad range of employment and legal matters. She brings extensive experience leading organizations, navigating complex issues, and building partnerships that support lasting results. Taylor earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
